About Brute Yogi

I have 20 years experience working with the human body and consider myself a body mechanic.  I am a Certified Massage Therapist, 500-hour-level Registered Yoga Teacher, and a Level 1 CrossFit Trainer. I have been a life-long, multidisciplinary athlete since the age of 8. Although yoga and CrossFit are an essential part of my everyday fitness, I admit to being happiest when I am in nature – backpacking for days at a time, climbing the side of a rock face, soaring in a paraglider – to live in the woods and on the land is my dream.

I take pride every day in applying my diverse knowledge and experience to help people feel more confident in their own skin whether they be an athlete, injured, or someone just trying to crawl out from a life of being de-conditioned. I can offer comprehensive training sessions that are tailored to your specific needs and will help you find ways to reach your goals. If you’re serious about changing your habits and improving your exercise, nutrition, sleep, and overall help, together we will develop strategies to get you there.

As a self proclaimed Jill-of-all-trades, I try to get my feet wet in as much as I can – whether it be outdoor pursuits, athletics, education or anything else that grabs my attention.  I have always been active in a variety of sports and activities starting with gymnastics, softball, and volleyball as a young child and moving into surfing, skiing, and climbing as I got older.  While all of these endeavors have remained life long hobbies, I spent the majority of my time becoming a competitive equestrian, competing throughout college at the national level.  No matter what activities I participate in I always return to education, whether that be to expand my personal knowledge base or share with others.

My passion is program design; tailoring that program to the athlete, group of athletes or to the gym environment.   Together we’ll discuss your goals and what is necessary to achieve them.  If you want to be able to play with your kids, prepare for a PRT, compete in your chosen sport, or gain strength after injury – we can design something for you.  In collaboration with Lisa’s movement assessment and nutrition advice, I will put a program together for you to get you on track to obtain those goals.
